O Captain, My Captain…
This iconic line from Dead Poets Society still resonates with the same power today.
After more than two triumphant years on stage in Paris and on tour throughout France, the theatrical phenomenon Le Cercle des Poètes disparus will be presented at the Théâtre Royal de Rabat on December 22, 2026.
Adapted from the celebrated film written by Tom Schulman, the play takes us into the heart of a school governed by tradition and convention. The arrival of John Keating, a charismatic and unconventional literature teacher, challenges everything his young students thought they knew. Through poetry, freedom of thought and his famous “Carpe Diem,” he encourages them to see the world differently, find their own voices and choose their own paths.
At an age when personalities and destinies begin to take shape, these young men discover friendship, the desire for emancipation and the power of passing knowledge and values from one generation to the next. A deeply moving and timelessly relevant story that questions our relationship with freedom, education and the courage to be oneself.
A cry for life! A cry for freedom!
Carpe Diem! Carpe Diem!
